ABOUT MAESTRO
We teach one instrument, and we teach it well: piano and keyboard for children and adults, at our centres and online.
OUR STORY · SINCE 2018
A maestro is a master of music — but every maestro once sat down at the piano and looked for middle C for the first time. That is the idea behind our name: we take students from their very first note and guide them, step by step, towards real mastery, with close attention, a lot of care and real musical expression.
Pianists Vaishnav Bhandarkar and Akash Mistry founded Maestro Music Institute in 2018 with a simple belief: learning music should not be hard to begin. Not limited by age, not reserved for a few, and not made complicated. So we teach children from the age of five and adults of every age, in our centres in Airoli and Thane, and live online.
Both founders still teach at the school, and we keep our focus narrow on purpose: by teaching only piano and keyboard, every lesson plan and every recital is designed around it — from the very first note to the concert stage.
WHY WE STARTED, IN 2018
Music education should be available to everyone, at every age, with ease.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Every lesson ends with music, not just exercises. Reading and technique are learnt through real pieces.
We assess each student first and set goals that suit their age, pace and the music they love.
Regular student recitals give everyone a stage, from their first piece to their grade exam programme.
Parents get regular updates, and students work towards clear milestones and recognised grade exams.
THE FOUNDERS
Both founders teach at Maestro themselves — patient with beginners, demanding where it counts, and preparing students for Trinity College London and MTB graded exams.
